| Lexus Bradford Launches Search for the Eco Kid at Ilkley School
Lexus Bradford on North Brook Street in Bradford has revealed the winners of a competition to find the Eco Car of the future at Westville House School in Ilkley.
The winners were Sarah Parry, Charlotte Day, Phoebe Smith, Isabel Austin, and Lauren Robertshaw. Their designs were judged to be the best from more than 70 pupils who took part.
The Lexus Bradford 'Eco Kid' competition challenged school children to design a car which harnesses energy to make car transport as efficient as possible. Children were judged on their imagination and choice of innovative solutions to cut down on those all-important CO2 emissions.
The winners each won a state-of-the-art clockwork radio. Whilst all children who took part received eco-friendly Lexus goody bags featuring recycled products including key rings made out of recycled CD cases and notepads made of old tyres.
And the parents of the winning 'Eco Kids' won the use of a £45,000 Lexus hybrid for a weekend.
Lexus Bradford Centre Principal, Paul Fagan, reveals, "It has been an honour to judge so many top quality entries. It's a credit to the school that the children have put so much time and effort into their designs. Congratulations to the winners and everyone who took part."
School Headmaster Charles Holloway said, "The Eco Kid competition was the kind of challenge our pupils love. They could really express themselves creatively whilst learning important lessons about the environment. Thank you to everyone at Lexus Bradford for their support." |
